How to get this look...?

I'm looking for a take-charge type of look...right now my look is really sweet and cute-sy. What can I wear (makeup, hair, %26amp; clothes) to look independent, sexy, strong, take-charge, edgier, etc? (Oh, and without putting on tons of makeup please.) Thanks!

Ok, well you need to make a statement.

I would first go for a really bold haircut, maybe really short, or a bob.

You could have a really blunt fringe, then have the rest of your hair layered or feathered.

You could also go for a sort of cut fringe, like Fearne Cotton:

Its a really gorgeous, sexy haircut and I would have it if I had the confidence!

If you don't want to have your hair-cut, maybe style it differently. You could get some hair gel, and spike it, or ruffle it up a bit.

If you don't want to go for that, you could try and experiment with different colours for your eyes, and maybe if you use eyeliner, finish it with little flicks.

Now finally for your clothes! If you usually go for cute little pink tops, make a statement and go for something in red or black. Wear a really plain-ish short sleeved t-shirt, and add a waistcoat. Then finish with some simple jeans and some high heels. But make sure you can walk with them, you don't want to look like a little girl in her mums dressing up box.

Or you could wear a simple top, and a short skirt. Then get over-the-knee socks and finish with heels again. This really makes a statement.

If you want to go for the sexy older look, try this. Get a black pencil skirt. Then ontop wear a white shirt, blouse or polo shirt. Get a small satiny scarf, and tie or around your neck in a knot, and position it to one side, so the two end tails are by your sholder. Then wear a beret and either a simple ring or braclet (one or the other). You could finish off with black pumps or even better, heels. Get a nice matching bag too!

Always assesorise too! You can wear the same outfit again and again, but it could always look different! You could wear a beret, or a big chunky neckalce or braclet. Or have a cocktail ring.

Litreally go for stuff you don't usually go for! If you go for a pink top with frills, go with a black top with a meaningful logo on the front. Experiment. If you have a really confident friend, maybe ask her for some tips and try on some of clothes to see what suits you best, so you know what to look for when you go shopping.

Most importantly is make sure you look confident. Make sure you enter a room with a big smile on your face. Walk and talk with confidence and independince. Keep you back straight with your arms loosly by your side, sholders back, and head straight. Image you have a sting on your head and someone is holding you up with it, like a puppet almost.
